Nestled in the Judean Mountains near Jerusalem, Mount Samuel is said to be the location of the ancient city of Mizpah. This site served as Israel’s capital during Samuel’s judgeship (1 Samuel 7:5-6), and it was here that the Israelites rallied before their victory over the Philistines.
Among the significant sites to visit is Hannah’s Spring. Named after Samuel’s mother, it is a source of natural water tucked away amidst the serene landscape. The spring symbolizes Hannah’s prayer for a son, her faith culminating in Samuel’s birth, and his consequential dedication to God’s service (1 Samuel 1:10-11).
Mount Samuel also houses the tomb of the prophet Samuel. This sacred place serves as a tangible reminder of the prophet’s influence and the legacy he left behind as a spiritual leader and judge over Israel.
